OK that’s it for today, got loads here to upload but run out of time today! Google Maps and the GPS thing still causing me problems so they might look screwy right now, soon they will be ready! Yesterday we got to the Carribean and Playa de Carmen, I’ve added some pics but loads still waiting to upload on this slow connection, more soon, promise! Got hours in airports coming up on our way to Bermuda in 3 days so lots of boring boring time to kill
The pics uploaded so far are at http://picasaweb.google.com/tim.minter.pics I think!
My menu translations would probably be a lot worse than this. Thought this was hilarious. About half way down things seem to go a bit astray. My favourite is “She Asses of Head or chicken”. Click image to see a bigger version
Check out those muscles!.. he he.. hardly! Slightly jealously looking at other people’s rucksacks, they seem to be tiny! and only have one! Kath reminded me we are packing for every possible climate and these other sensible people are just doing a sensible trip in one part of the world. Opening our bags in Mexico (at least a two change of t-shirt a day scorcher of a place) you’ll find woolly hats, gloves and thermals! One thing we have decided though is that at least one of Kath’s four bikinis and one of my pairs of pants has to go (2 is enough).
Currently this is what happens when I half unpack… Just emailed the Galapagos and Amazon Jungle trip people to make sure we can take two 23kg and two 10kg bags with us on the boats and planes these involve. We might be travelling lighter then we were expecting!
Trusty Eeepc in the “Patio de las Hamacas” hammock garden at Nomadas Youth Hostel, Merida. Bit disappointed by Merida after Saint Cristobal and Oaxaca, this hostel is great though, really well run, wireless if you’re lucky at the corner table in the garden and even free salsa lessons, we’re waiting for Havana for that though! oh dear, might not take my camera to those!
I’ll be tapping away on this little beauty inbetween the real bits of travelling. Might not be that regularly but I’ll keep on it!
